About the event
In this hands-on class, we’ll focus on the foundational skills behind great scones—from building a tender crumb to balancing fat, moisture, and mix-ins—while exploring a unique seasonal twist.
Students will make pear spiced scones using Herb’s Harvest canned pears, learning how to thoughtfully incorporate canned fruit into baked goods without sacrificing texture or structure. We’ll talk through spice pairing, moisture control, dough handling, and baking techniques that result in scones that are golden on the outside and soft, layered, and flavorful on the inside.
This class is perfect for home bakers looking to strengthen their baking fundamentals while expanding their confidence in using preserved fruit as a flavorful, reliable ingredient. You’ll leave with practical techniques you can apply to countless scone variations—plus freshly baked scones to enjoy and take home.
