If you’ve ever had a big idea sitting on the back burner — something you’ve dreamed about for years — this one’s for you.
For me, that dream was a podcast. I’ve wanted to start one for over three years. I’d write down episode ideas in the notes app, imagine conversations with other creative entrepreneurs, and even test-record a few voice memos while driving to the bakery. But between cookie orders, classes, and growing Dani’s Kitchen Shop, I always told myself I didn’t quite have the time… or the gear… or the know-how to do it “right.”
This year, I finally decided to stop waiting for perfect and just start.
And that’s how Mixing Up Success was born — a podcast for bakers, makers, and small business owners who are ready to blend together the right ingredients for a thriving business and a lifestyle they love.
From Bakery Counter to Business Coach
When I opened Dani’s Kitchen Shop here in Hood River, I never imagined it would grow into what it is today — a teaching kitchen, online shop, and resource hub for bakers and creative entrepreneurs all over the country.
Over the past decade, I’ve learned that running a bakery (or any small business) isn’t just about recipes and pretty packaging — it’s about systems, pricing, leadership, storytelling, and community. It’s about mixing together creativity and strategy.
That’s exactly what this podcast is all about.
Each week, I’ll share honest stories from behind the counter — what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what I’m still learning as a business owner, mom, and creative entrepreneur. You’ll also hear from some of the incredible women who make Dani’s Kitchen run — Mercedes, Michelle, Alyssa, and Amy — as we talk about everything from food science and pricing to photography and finding focus in busy seasons.
Why Mixing Up Success
Whether you’re:
A home baker ready to turn your passion into profit
A small business owner feeling stretched thin
Or a seasoned entrepreneur looking to scale with systems and confidence
— this podcast is for you.
We’ll dive into baking business tips you can actually use, creative entrepreneurship strategies that simplify your to-do list, and stories that remind you why you started in the first place.
Because success isn’t just about profit — it’s about creating something meaningful, building community, and doing it all in a way that feels true to you.
What You’ll Hear This Season
Here’s a little taste of what’s coming up in Season 1 of Mixing Up Success:
Pricing Without Guilt: How to confidently charge what your baking is worth.
The Recipe for Business Success: Five key ingredients every small business needs.
Growing into Leadership: Lessons from hiring and leading a creative team.
Storytelling That Sells: How to connect with your audience through authenticity.
Systems Save Sanity: Why structure gives you more freedom, not less.
Each episode is packed with practical takeaways — because I know how busy you are. You can listen while rolling dough, labeling boxes, or packing orders.
The Lesson I Learned Starting This Podcast
You don’t have to know everything to begin.
I didn’t have fancy equipment or a podcasting studio — just a clear mission and a lot of heart. And I want you to feel that same freedom in your own business. Start messy. Learn as you go. Mix things up.
If I can grow a bakery from my kitchen counter into a thriving business — and now launch a podcast from that same kitchen — you can take your next big leap, too.
