Wear Blue: Our 4th Annual Colon Cancer Awareness Cookie Campaign

Every March, Dani's Kitchen Shop turns blue.
Not because it's trendy. Not because it converts well. Not because it's strategic.
Because of a friend.
Four years ago, one of my closest college friends — Maddee — was diagnosed with colon cancer at 35 years old. What started as vague symptoms, fatigue, anemia, just not feeling right, turned into a colonoscopy that revealed a tumor the size of a Nerf ball.
At 35.
I remember feeling completely helpless. What do you do when someone you love is walking through something you can't fix?
You do what you can.
So I baked.
No big plan. No marketing strategy. Just a cookie set designed in her honor and a 24-hour fundraiser. We sold 125 dozen cookies in one day. That first year, we raised thousands for colon cancer research.
We've done it every year since.
Why We Keep Showing Up
Because colon cancer is rising in younger adults. Because screening saves lives. And because every single year during this campaign, someone messages us and says:
"I scheduled my colonoscopy because of this." "They found something early." "Thank you for talking about this."
That's why we keep showing up. Not because cookies fix cancer — but because conversations do something. They move people. And sometimes moving one person is enough.

This Year's Goal 💙
In 2026, we're aiming to sell 100 standard cookie sets and 25 gluten-free sets, donating $30 from every purchase directly to colon cancer research. Our goal is to raise at least $3,000 this March — which would put our four-year total over $11,000.
A small business effort. But small things, done consistently, make an impact.
Yes, There's a Toilet Paper Cookie 🧻
Colon cancer is serious. But four years in, we've learned something: humor helps us talk about hard things.
This year's set includes a "Wipe Out Cancer" cookie — because if we can't laugh a little while advocating for colon health, what are we even doing?
How You Can Support
💙 Purchase a set. Available until March–8, 2026 only. Limited quantities.
👉 Shop here — $30 from every set goes directly to colon cancer research.
💙 Donate or learn more. Find screening information and support research at colorectalcancer.org.
💙 Share this. If you can't purchase, sharing costs nothing and might be the nudge someone needs to finally schedule that appointment.
If you're 45 or older — schedule the screening. If you're under 45 — learn your family history. Early detection changes everything.
This Isn't About Cookies
It's about Maddee. It's about the person reading this who's been putting off a phone call to their doctor. It's about showing up for each other in the ways we actually can.
Thank you for wearing blue with us. 💙
