Three Years in My Dream Kitchen: Building More Than a Business

Updated: Jul 17

July 16, 2022, I stepped into my dream kitchen for the first time. What started as a personal milestone has become something far greater than I ever imagined – a thriving community built on flour, sugar, and genuine human connection.

The Numbers Tell a Story

ree

Looking back at what we've accomplished together:

  • 100,333 cookies made

  • 85 classes hosted

  • 950 students taught

But behind every number is a story. Behind every cookie is a celebration, a milestone, a moment of joy shared. We've been honored to create edible art for life's most precious moments – welcoming new babies, celebrating engagements, marking birthdays, honoring retirements, and so much more.

More Than Baking: We're Memory Makers

What moves me most is how we've become woven into the fabric of our community's most important moments. When local entrepreneurs need logo cookies for their launches, when families want something special for their gatherings, when people are looking for that perfect sweet touch to mark a milestone – they think of us.

We've discovered that our classes aren't really about the techniques we teach. They're about the experience. They're about the memories created in our intimate learning environment where we truly get to know each student. They're about the confidence that grows alongside rising dough and the connections formed over shared successes (and beautiful failures).

Looking Forward: Beyond the Kitchen

What excites me most about the future is our continued growth into teaching not just culinary skills, but life skills. We're expanding into business mentorship, creative development, and really anything we can offer to help others build more meaningful, purposeful lives.

Because at the end of the day, we're not just running a baking business – we're stewarding a movement toward more connected, intentional living. We're creating a space where people don't just learn to make cookies; they discover new parts of themselves and form lasting bonds with their fellow learners.

A Toast to Community

ree

Three years in, and I'm more convinced than ever that the most meaningful businesses are those that serve something bigger than profit. They serve connection. They serve growth. They serve the human need to create, learn, and belong.

Thank you to every student who has trusted us with their learning journey, every family who has let us be part of their celebrations, and every fellow entrepreneur we've had the privilege to support. You've made this dream kitchen a reality in ways I never could have imagined.

Here's to the next chapter of our story – one class, one cookie, and one meaningful connection at a time.
