Join Chef Michelle, a local food scientist with a passion for traditional techniques, for an immersive hands-on experience making from-scratch minestrone soup alongside a garlic cheese pull-apart bread that’s perfect for sharing.
Students will learn the foundations of minestrone — how to build deep, balanced flavor using simple ingredients, flexible vegetable combinations, and thoughtful preparation techniques that can be adapted to any season. We’ll talk through aromatics, broth building, timing, and how small choices make a big difference in the final bowl.
Working in teams of two, students will cook the meal from start to finish, then sit down together around the table to enjoy what we’ve made — just like a family-style dinner. You’ll leave with a full belly, a clear understanding of minestrone flavor building, and leftovers to take home.
