About the event
Wet-on-wet is one of the most beautiful — and most misunderstood — techniques in cookie decorating. Done well, it looks effortless: color bleeding into color, a marble that swirls just right, a feathered heart that holds its shape. Done without the right foundation, it turns into cratered icing, muddy colors, and cookies you're embarrassed to give away.
This class is built for decorators who already know their way around a piping bag and are ready to go deeper. You'll start from scratch, mixing your own batch of royal icing in two consistencies — a stiffer piping icing and a self-leveling flood icing — and coloring it out into a five-color palette. From there, you'll be guided step-by-step through a set of wet-on-wet techniques, working directly on cookies so you leave with both the finished pieces and the muscle memory to repeat them at home.
